Aurelie Parant from Honestly Healthy is a Holistic Health Coach & Hypnosis Practitioner that combines hypnosis & health coaching helping people to overcome social anxiety.  In this interview Aurelie tells MysticMag about her professional journey, how hypnosis can transform limiting beliefs and offers some key tips in self-care.

When did your passion for helping others begin and what inspired you to guide people in their life challenges?

My passion for helping others started in my mid-twenties. I always advised friends and family about their diet and explained to them how the food they eat and their thoughts affect their emotions. It was natural for me, but I never thought it could become a career one day.

I suffered from anxiety, stress, and overthinking for most of my life. I was often burnout and depressed. I wanted to find a natural alternative to heal anxiety and depression and was on a mission to understand why I felt the way I felt.

I had a demanding job with long hours working on a private boat for years. One day I had a terrible boat accident in the Bahamas. I could have died that night. After this accident, I completely changed my life and looked for my purpose. It felt like I was given another chance, and I used it to take a different path. I quit my job and decided to become a Holistic Health Coach and studied Hypnosis a few years later.

My interest went towards nutrition and the power of our mind. I started studying gut health, food intolerance, and how our thoughts shape reality. It’s been full of challenges, but when I saw that I could heal myself by changing the way I eat and my limiting beliefs, I was inspired to help people change their lives.

What methods do you use to support your clients?

I use a combination of Advanced Conversational Hypnotherapy and Health Coaching to find the root cause of my client’s problems which consistently produce rapid phenomenal results. The principles-based methods behind my work allow healing and updating the beliefs in the unconscious mind to unlock the true power that resides inside of all of us.

How can hypnotherapy be beneficial in overcoming Anxiety?

Hypnotherapy is a method that allows bypassing your conscious mind, «the thinking mind», and accessing the subconscious mind, which is a million times more powerful and runs 95 to 99% of our biology. Our subconscious mind got all of our programs from past experiences and is responsible for our behavior. Our thoughts and words create our emotions, so we work on the thinking loop the person is stuck with and untie the knots. We update the programming-the limiting beliefs that form the emotions. Like Milton Erickson said – Allow yourself to see what you don’t allow yourself to see – Once you put a spotlight on something you weren’t aware of, it creates a shift and will enable choices back in.

In your experience in working with people, what would you say is the number one thing that holds most people back from living the fulfilling life they would like to live?

What holds most people back is FEAR. Fear of the unknown, fear of being judged, fear of being seen, fear of failure. From my experience, people don’t believe in themselves and don’t think they are good enough, even successful people.

Self-care is such an important aspect for us, do you have any tips to share with our readers to accomplish this?

1) The thoughts you have affect the way you feel. Change them into positive ones. Even if it seems not true, your mind is listening to you, and you will feel better with practice.

Don’t let your thoughts take over your life. Every thought you think and every word you speak creates a physical reaction in your body. If you change the way you think, you will change your life!

2) The food we eat affects our emotions :

Certain foods contain nutrients or chemicals that affect how the brain functions, and as a result, it does affect your mood. Some foods can help focus, ease a depressive mood, and increase energy levels, while others can make you feel more sad and anxious.

Here are a few tips to help you:

  • Be aware of your negative thoughts, and change them into nurturing ones.
  • Don’t beat yourself up! Praise yourself every day for the things that you do.
  • Choose better habits that benefit you. Your mind learns through repetition. You can make the familiar unfamiliar and vice versa.
  • Exercise daily; even a 30 min walk in nature will make you feel better.
  • Drink more water!
  • Eat a balanced breakfast.
  • Eat healthy Food (Greens, oily fish, organic protein)
  • Avoid Caffeine and Sugary Food that triggers anxiety
  • Have Enough Sleep
  • Meditate to quiet your mind from overthinking

The most important thing you can do is be aware of how you talk to yourself. Making these changes will increase your self-confidence and self-esteem.
