Successfully Promoting Your Workshop

Congratulations, you’ve set up your workshop! So, what’s next?

In this article, we will share best practices for promoting your Insight Timer workshop to your community, both on and off the app.

Hosting Live Events

Live Events are one of the best ways to connect with your community on Insight Timer. They are the perfect place to share news and updates around your workshop, so that your students can learn more, ask questions and eventually purchase their tickets.

To make the most out of your Live Events, we strongly recommend you invest time and effort into preparing the content of your Lives and to schedule regular sessions to build a committed audience on the app.

We recommend scheduling at least 2 weekly Live Events in the 5 weeks leading up to your workshop. Once your workshop is published, we ask that you share the links to your events with our onboarding team, so that we have content available to feature on the app. This can help us drive interested students into your Live Events, where you can then educate them further on your offering.

Sharing Workshop Updates in your Group

We strongly encourage you as a workshop teacher to start a Group. Groups are private community forum on the app that you can use to directly connect with your most engaged students. You have the option to chat, meditate together and post important announcements around your workshops and other offerings. We recommend sharing any upcoming event in your Teacher Group by posting a message on the Feed, so that it doesn’t get lost in a conversation thread (pictured below).

Create Discount Codes

We can create a range of discount codes for you to support the sales for your workshop. Discounts can be a great way to convince students who may still be considering whether or not to purchase a ticket to your event.

Some of our workshop teachers like to create special early bird pricing, others request a discount code for 10% off to share during their Live Events and Groups to reward their most engaged and loyal followers. We can work with you to create discount codes with specific quantities or end dates to suit your preference.

To discuss your discount code, please get in touch with our onboarding team who will reach out to you shortly after your workshop goes live.

Promotion Videos

Once your workshop is live you have the option to create a short video of yourself explaining what attendees can expect and learn in your workshop – a great chance for your audience to visually connect with you and a great opportunity to share the benefits of your offering.

The video is added to your workshop listing on the app and can also be seen under the Workshops tab on your teacher profile.

We also recommend sharing the video on your own social media channels to spread the word about your event.

Share the Workshop Externally

We encourage you to share your workshop and other offering with your existing community through your own social media channels and via your email newsletters. Sharing with your external audience is crucial as students on your email list or followers on your social channels have already expressed their interest in hearing from you, so they are more likely to want to attend your workshop.

To share a weblink with your email database:
Simply visit, navigate to your own teacher profile, then click on your workshop and copy the URL.

To share a graphic on your social media account:
Navigate to your workshop listing on the app, click on the Instagram icon in the top right corner and you will be redirected to post. (Pictured below)
